Bonjour my loves!
So as you may know or not know this July I visited Paris, France 🇫🇷
So I thought I would fill you in on some things to know if you are ever travelling to this beautiful city!
I will cover what to wear, what to see and so on! You may never visit Paris or never want too but I guarantee if you read this blog post you will learn something new😁
Before going to Paris I think I drove everyone crazy asking what to you wear in a city like Paris? It's a fashion capital and you want to look good but you also want to blend in!
I read endless blog posts on how 'it wasn't acceptable' for people to wear runners or sneakers on the streets of Paris and the French would give you looks if you did.. I can tell you here and now that is a LIE!
Keep reading if you would like to hear more truths😂
Tip 1- Fashion ~
#footwear ~
Paris is a fashion capital so dress nice!
As for runners.. WEAR THEM! You will see countless French ladies wearing a cute dress and pairing it with some runners it's socially acceptable don't worry!
It's a big city so you will be doing a lot of walking and your feet will be sore so make sure your shoes are comfortable! Something cute but comfy!
These shoes are super cute with the little bow detail but also comfortable as there fully enclosed and you won't be banging your toes of the side of a path or anything!
#Clothing ~
Paris is a city it's big and crowded and warm!! It was about 38 degrees in July and even if your used to being in the heat this is a different kind .. It's clammy and sticky and very, very humid! So you want to keep your clothing quite light!
1)If your looking for something casual but cute try pairing a nice skater skirt with a plain t-shirt and tucking it in 😁
I paired this outfit with a casual pair of trainers and a big black hat to add a bit more to my outfit!
This hat cost about €2 from aliexpress and I got such good use out of it!
2) If your looking for something a bit more dressy go For a tulle skirt paired with a backless top!
I didn't see anyone in Paris wearing an outfit like this, probably because a skirt that heavy will make you die in the heat!
If I was going again I would probably keep my case full of outfits more casual like the top one but its nice to bring something a bit different in the suitcase!
Tip 2- EXPENSES ~
Before I went to Paris all I heard was it's so expensive wine is cheaper than water etc.
To some extent Paris is expensive but it's all about where you go! If you stroll into a cafe near the champs elesse of course it's going to be expensive!
However in many restaurants coke can cost €10, water €4-6, wine €5 so it is quiet expensive with drinks however coke in a supermarket only cost me 30cents.
Something to be aware of is I got a cocktail in a restaurant it was €13 but I said I might aswell try whilst in Paris I was asked did I want small, medium, large and I said medium not thinking anything.. I was charged €26, it wasn't anything fancy and it was just in a plain glass!
Food in restaurants is similar to here however it's all about where you go! Your better off to take a walk and find somewhere a little off track !
If your going on a budget why not stock up on some snacks from a supermarket or get food from the stalls that sell hot dogs and fresh crepes! You could easily get a meal for €10 to fill you for a day if your on a budget!
But yano when in Paris.. It's nice to splurge! Found such a cute little restaurant across from the louvre.
So although it is an expensive city you can be wise, use your common sense and it doesn't need to cost you an arm and a leg!
#Tip 3- Transport~
It's a big city and at some point you will need to take transport! If I was in Paris alone I would most definitely not be home now and still roaming around trying to find my way back! So thank you Daniel!
Tram~
Trams run underground in Paris from early morning until about 11 at night!
It's one of the quickest and cheapest ways to travel!
A ticket for a tram can cost about €1.50
It can be quiet overwhelming when underground trying to find where the tram is going from and where to get off but if you read the big information signs it should be clearer!
On a tram you can be standing and you will get very warm so if you are anyway clostrophobic it's not for you, other than that it's so handy and so cheap!
Uber~
You may have heard of ubers from American tv shows! They are like a taxi but not specifically a taxi they are more like the equivalent of a Hackney in Ireland with independent drivers!
They are generally cheaper than taxis aswell! You can only book these through an app and you pay online with your card.
They track your location and pick you up and you can track there's as there travelling to you! They run all day long!
They are so handy and a very efficient way of travelling!
#Tip4~ places to see!
There is nothing but places to see in Paris!
Before I went I had 101 places I wanted to see and I pretty much seen them all but you have to be realistic also!
Everything is so far apart and you may think your going to get loads done in one day but you may only get to see two in the one day!
Eifell tour ~
This is a must see when going to Paris of course! It's so so beautiful! We went to the second floor at night because the top one was closed!
The second floor was spectacular and I don't think there is an extreme difference between the second and top!
I would 100% recommend visiting the eiffel tower expecially at night time it's spectacular and every half hour the tower sparkles!
Louve ~
If you love art and all things pretty this is the place to go! The que in is crazy! But the grounds itself are beautiful!
Something people don't seem to notice is an underground shopping area right under the louvre!

View on the way up!
The detailing on the tower Is fantastic

The louvre is a beautiful place too see expecially at sunset as you can see from the photo. The grounds around the louvre was probably one of my favourite places!
Shopping ~
There are many different places you can go shopping in Paris, to find a mix of high street and branded shops your best off to go to champs eleysee and streets around it!
You will find shops like sephora, mac, h&m, zara and then shops like montblanc, sarvoski and yves saint laurent.
I visited two shopping centres and although they were nice too look at they mainly consisted of designer shops!
My favourite shop of course was sephora! And I purchased some goodies there! Go with your wallet full because you'll want to buy everything!
However I would definitely recommend visiting shopping centre Lafeyette! The architecture inside is absolutely beautiful! I could have spent hours looking at it! But again it's all branded expensive shops!
There is loads of places you can visit in Paris but I could be days listing them, it's really down to personal preference and what you love!
So for today I will leave it at that! Have you been to Paris? If so let me know what you thought👸
Much love,
